  13. What is ECI:
  14. ------------
  15.         I needed program which shows status when connecting to internet and 
  16.         closes itself when connect is estabilished. ECI do this and more..
  17.  
  18.         Shortly: ECI is PC-style "Connect Interface" for Genesis TCP-Stack.

  22. Features:
  23. ---------
  24.         - shows errormessages in requesters.
  25.         - All is done by ECI fully automaticly (atleast should be...)
  26.         - Internal REXX-system, NO any scripts needed. (v1.00b2+)
  27.         - Can get new mail (Currently supports only YAM..) (optional)
  28.         - Can run your favorit WWW-browser after connection is estabilished.
  29.         - When connect is established, EMC closes itself.

  33. Installing ECI:
  34. ---------------
  35. NOTE: Please follow these instructions or ECI will never work:

  37. Step 1) INSTALL:
  38.  
  39.         GENESIS Tcp-Stack
  40.  
  41. Step 2) EDIT GENESIS CONFIG:
  42.  
  43.         Run GENESISPREFS and edit following:
  44.  
  45.                    1) Click Modems/TAs --> Click your modem.
  46.                    2) Set "REDIAL ATTEMPTS" to 0.
  47.                    3) Click "OK"
  48.                    4) Click Options --> Misc
  49.                    5) "LOG LEVEL" must be "DEBUG"
  50.                    6) "LOGFILE LEVEL" must be "DEBUG" too.
  51.                    7) Set "LOGFILE" same as ECI's "GenesisLog" ie."T:AmiTcp.Log"
  52.                    8) "SAVE" settings..

  54. Step 3)  EDIT EMC CONFIG:

  56.                    1) Set first line of config same as the "LOGFILE" in GenesisPrefs.
  57.                    2) Set second line of config as YAM, if you want to ECI to check your
  58.                       mail. ONLY YAM is at the moment supported by ECI. 
  59.                       NOTE: Leave it empty, if you don't want to use this option.
  60.                    3) Set third line of config as your WWW_browser (with a full path)
  61.                       NOTE: Leave it empty, if you don't want to use this option.

  63. Step 4) ADD GENESIS to STARTUP:

  65.         Just add "RUN <>NIL: AmiTcp:GenesisRA" to your startup.

  67. Step 5) REBOOT

  69.         REBOOT your machine.

  71. Step 6) RUN FROM SHELL

  73.         ECI cli-Arguments are:

  76.         ECI OFFLINE    for go OFFLINE.
